Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer virtual/telehealth sessions?

Yes, all therapists at Lavender Healing Collective provide virtual telehealth therapy sessions over videocall to clients located in California. If you are located outside of California or the U.S., feel free to reach out for referrals in your area. At this time, we are not providing in-person therapy sessions.

What are your rates?

Standard fees vary by individual clinician and service type, ranging from $150–250 per session. At this time, our sliding scale spots are full. If you require a lower fee, we recommend searching through Open Path Collective, a directory of therapists offering services for $40-80 per session. Our resources page includes other therapist directories that allow you to filter by cost.

What should I expect in a session?

In the first few sessions, you and your therapist will get to know each other more and collaborate on which goals you would like to work on. We defer to our clients as to how they would like to spend their session. Each Clinician integrates multiple trauma-informed therapy approaches depending on their specialties as well as your specific needs and informed consent. Sessions are 50 minutes and your therapist will send you a link to your telehealth appointment ahead of time to connect.

How can I make an appointment?

Please fill out our contact form & we will follow up with you soon about the next steps.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, we do not take insurance and are considered out-of-network providers. However, we can provide a superbill that you may be able to submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance carrier to see if they accept superbills.

What is the difference between AMFT & LMFT?

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) is a title for pre-licensed therapists who have graduated from a master’s program, completed their traineeship, and are in the process of qualifying for licensure. After earning a minimum of 3000 hours of supervised experience as well as passing the clinical exam and law & ethics exam, an AMFT can apply to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. All AMFTs at LHC receive individual & group clinical supervision from one of our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.
